General Description:
This position reports to the Director, Diagnostic Imaging and Cardiology, and the clinical direction of the Cardiologists. The RN is responsible for the provision of nursing care as appropriate to the ages of the patients served within assigned functional area(s)—Stress Testing Lab. The RN assesses, plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates the plan of care. The RN monitors the plan of care to ensure quality, appropriateness, timeliness, and effectiveness of the care rendered. The RN, utilizing the Person- and Family- Centered Care Model, recognizes and addresses family needs and preferences, and integrates family caregivers as partners in care demonstrating mutual trust and respect. The RN provides primary monitoring and evaluation of stress testing patients. Patients receive a pre-test assessment, routine exercise stress test and modified stress test when indicated. Coordinates communication between patient, patient family and physician who will interpret the study. Facilitates procedure performance to reduce inpatient length of stay and throughput. Ensures organizational compliance with regulatory and licensure standards. The position shall exemplify the desired Culture of Choice® and philosophies of Parrish Healthcare.

Actively participates in necessary certification, accreditation, and audit procedures; and ensures that required reports/documentation required are accurately prepared and submitted within established timeframes.
- Accurately evaluates/examines patients prior to procedure performance, alerts Cardiologist of any contraindications to test performance. Performs and monitors the patient for an exercise induced stress test. Responds to 12 lead EKG to modify the test or when appropriate clinical indications exist. Contacts the cardiologist or emergency room physician when emergent needs exist.
- Coordinates stress scheduling to accommodate needs of the inpatient, outpatient and ER patient. Coordinates the communication between the physician, patient, and patient families. Works closely with the hospitalist medical director to reduce inpatient LOS related to stress test delays and other cardiology diagnostic testing delays. Provides a preliminary test finding to hospital-based physicians.
- Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills.

Requirements:
Formal Education
- Associates Degree in Nursing required Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist a plus.
Work Experience:
- 3 to 5 years in nursing, prefer telemetry. Cardiology experience preferred.
Required Licenses and Certifications;
- Must possess upon hire and maintain Current and valid State of Florida license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Current BLS and ACLS through the American Heart Association required.
- CMC, RN-BC, or other RN cardiac related specialty certifications preferred.
