General Description:
Key Responsibilities:

- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on hospital equipment, such as vital sign monitors, telemetry units, infusion pumps, patient beds, stretchers, and handheld consumables (i.e. thermometer, pulse oximeters, otoscope sets, etc.).
- Assists in the maintenance of the RTLS, equipment tracking system, for medical equipment. Keeps record of works performed on individual trackers, along with changing batteries when necessary.
- Advises the staff on proper use and maintenance of equipment. Communicates with vendors, technicians, physicians, managers, and other internal customers regarding scheduling of maintenance and repairs, status, and follow-up.
- Responds to major medical equipment failures which impact patient safety or patient care.
- Utilize work order system to document works performed and equipment maintained. Creates and completes work orders correctly. Enters clear comments and test results for work completed. Logs time correctly.
- Provides courteous service to visitors, patients, staff, vendors, and co-workers as part of the organization’s commitment to quality services. Practices good teamwork with all in the shop.
- Keeps work areas orderly, clean, and safe. Applies proper safety procedures in the use of tools, machinery, and supplies, including the use of appropriate safety equipment and apparel.
- Communicate with third-party personnel/vendors regarding the scheduling of maintenance, repairs, and follow-ups on related subject matter.
- Performs similar or related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1 to 2 years hands on work experience in a Hospital, experience with electrical/mechanical devices or third-party Service Organization.
- Valid Florida Drivers Licenses FDL valid Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that is acceptable to PMC’s corporate automobile insurance carrier. License will be screened prior to employment and at least annually thereafter.
